MESSAGE FROM DUPAGE COUNTY BOARD MEMBER
by Julie Renehan, District 3
Thank you for the
opportunity to serve DuPage County! The first 100 days on the DuPage County
Board I have been busy learning the ropes, meeting residents, addressing their
concerns, digging into County budgeting and policy and, for those who have
asked- I am loving the job! I am working on issues that are already improving
our county. As many of you know, I have been outspoken on Sterigenics on
the Board and off-which is now sealed thanks to the courage of our new
Governor! I will stay active on this issue, realizing that a final solution
could take years in the court system.
Chairing the Ad Hoc
Adult Business committee is my immediate focus. I have directed fact finding on
the extent and repercussions that adult (i.e. sexually oriented) businesses
have on the community and ways to mitigate these effects--crime, property
values, abuse to workers and more. I expect to bring a licensing ordinance to
the Board in the coming months. As Vice Chair of Health and Human Services, I
am working on how to bolster the County's work on the opioid epidemic, and how
to better care for our seniors, veterans and ill residents. Please visit my new
website at JulieRenehan.com for more information on my Committee assignments
and ongoing work!
Want to support myself
and other new Democratic County Board members? Come to a meeting! Promote us

strengthen the name recognition and track record of DuPage Democrats- because
we are here to stay.
