The best way any Democrat can help elect Democrats and
defeat Republicans like Bruce Rauner and Peter Roskam is to become a Democratic
Precinct Committeeman. Precinct
Committeeman are the direct link between candidates and the Democratic Party
and the voters. PC’s register voters, deliver information to voters about
candidates, and encourage voters to get to the polls.
There will be two important events for anyone considering
becoming a precinct committeeman or for anyone who just wants to learn more
about the roles of PC’s.
Friends Who March will host “What is a Precinct
Committeeman?” on Saturday, August 12 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the DuPage
Unitarian Church, 1828 Old Naperville Road, Naperville. One of the speakers
will be Bill Houlihan, State Director for Senator Richard Durbin.
The Downers Grove Township Democratic Organization will hold
“Campaign 102: The Role of the Precinct Committeeman” on Wednesday evening,
August 23 from 7:30 to 9:00 at the Downers Grove Twp. Democrats Office, 906
Curtiss in Downers Grove. All current
and prospective precinct committeemen are encouraged to attend to discuss the
roles of PCs in building our party and supporting our candidates.
